"Tear Down this Wall"- Reagan

"Tear down this wall!" was the challenge President Reagan had for the Soviet leader, Gorbachev in order to get rid of the Berlin Wall. The wall was built in 1961 as a sign of communism. The wall divided Germany into the East and West.

Oath of Office- 1981

Reagan took the Oath of Office in 1981 for his presidency. Explain to your child that an oath of office is taken before someone takes an office, usually in the government or religious body. Presidents must take an oath, very similar to what Reagan did, before the entire country.
